From a first look in the Wedgewood Ballroom to a church ceremony and an elegant reception in the Tuscan Ballroom, Miles and Gabby’s wedding unfolded through a series of beautiful settings. White florals, soft green accents, and gold details connected the celebration, bringing a classic style to a day full of personality.
At The Estate at River Run, we love seeing how couples make the property part of their story. For Miles and Gabby, it served as both the setting for those early moments of anticipation and the gathering place where loved ones celebrated their marriage.
Beginning With a First Look
Before leaving for their church ceremony, Miles and Gabby shared their first look in the Wedgewood Ballroom.
With soft blue walls, ornate white ceiling details, and natural light pouring through tall windows, the ballroom offered an elegant backdrop for this part of the day. Gabby’s strapless gown and white bouquet complemented the room’s delicate palette, while classic black formalwear completed the timeless look.
The photographs capture smiles, laughter, and an embrace—a joyful beginning before the ceremony ahead.
A Church Ceremony
Following their first look at the estate, Miles and Gabby departed for their ceremony at an off-site church, where they exchanged vows and became husband and wife.
Their day paired a church wedding with a celebration at River Run, allowing each setting to hold its own significance. After the ceremony, the festivities continued back at the estate.
Cocktail Hour Throughout the Estate
Cocktail hour welcomed guests into the Foyer, onto the Bluestone Terrace, and through the Cameo Ballroom. Spanning indoor and outdoor spaces, this portion of the day gave loved ones the opportunity to explore, mingle, and enjoy the property.
The Foyer offered a grand welcome, while the Cameo Ballroom provided an elegant interior gathering space. Outside, the Bluestone Terrace opened the celebration to sweeping views of the James River and surrounding landscape.
Moving among these spaces gave guests a sense of the estate before everyone gathered for the evening reception.
An Elegant Reception in the Tuscan Ballroom
For the reception, guests came together in the Tuscan Ballroom, where white linens and flowers created a soft, classic design against the room’s rich architectural textures.
Gold Chiavari chairs surrounded round guest tables, while a long central table added definition to the layout. White floral arrangements and touches of greenery extended throughout the room, complementing its exposed beams, brick walls, and substantial stone fireplace.
Small lamps with white shades were a particularly inviting detail. Placed among the flowers and glassware, they brought the warmth of a dinner party to the ballroom. Soft green table numbers echoed the green accents in Miles and Gabby’s stationery, carrying the palette through to the reception.
The invitation suite introduced that style beautifully: flowing script, a monogram, and a green band paired with an illustrated envelope liner depicting the estate. From the paper details to the tables themselves, the design felt cohesive and personal.
A Beautiful Setting for Gathering
As the day moved from the first look to the church ceremony, then back to River Run for cocktails and the reception, each setting marked a new part of Miles and Gabby’s celebration.
Their wedding offers lovely inspiration for couples planning a church ceremony followed by an estate reception. With space for a first look before the vows, several settings for cocktail hour, and a welcoming ballroom for the evening, the property brought the day’s celebrations together.
It was an honor to be part of Miles and Gabby’s wedding and to welcome their loved ones to The Estate at River Run.
