Alissa & kobie
Alissa and Kobie’s wedding at The Estate at River Run was a romantic celebration rooted in timeless love and Italian-inspired elegance. High school sweethearts, the couple brought a sense of warmth, nostalgia, and joy to every moment of their early spring wedding day, balanced with the estate's elegant architecture and panoramic views.
The day began in the Primary Wedding Suite, where Alissa got ready alongside her bridal party and mother. The atmosphere was lighthearted and full of laughter as final touches came together. Alissa stepped into a sleek satin ballgown featuring a regal basque waist and dramatic flowing train. Custom pearl-lined sleeves and a pearl-embellished veil by Irina Ciobanu added a romantic, couture finish. A quiet, meaningful moment followed as her mother helped fasten her into the gown.
Meanwhile, Kobie and his groomsmen spent the morning at the Pool House, enjoying cornhole and time by the pool before changing into their formalwear. Hidden inside Kobie’s tux was a sentimental surprise: a photo of the couple stitched into the lining alongside a patch that read, “I love you mostest.”
Alissa shared a series of joyful first looks throughout the afternoon, first with her bridal party along the upstairs balcony, after with her father and then groom at the estate’s iconic front doors. Each reveal was filled with playful laughter and heartfelt emotion, setting the tone for the day ahead.
The ceremony took place on the Bluestone Terrace beneath perfect, sunny March skies. The aisle was lined with lush, multi-textured florals and greenery in soft shades of green and white, creating a natural, organic atmosphere overlooking the James River. Alissa’s nephews served as the sweetest flower boys, adding a layer of family charm to the moment. A live violinist set a romantic tone as Alissa and Kobie gathered, officiated by their former high school choir teacher, a deeply personal touch that honored their shared history.
Cocktail hour unfolded throughout the Wedgewood Ballroom and adjoining Cameo Ballroom, a space that flows effortlessly from the Grand Foyer and onto the Brickwood Terrace. Guests enjoyed refreshing peach sangria, the couple’s signature “our” drink, while admiring personal touches like clipped photos of Alissa and Kobie displayed on cocktail glasses. During cocktail hour, the couple shared their first dance beneath glowing chandeliers, made even more special by a close friend singing live. Touching parent dances followed, creating an intimate pause before the evening’s celebration continued.
As the sun dipped low, Alissa and Kobie stepped outside for sunset portraits, capturing the quiet magic of the estate in golden light.
The reception took place in the Tuscan Ballroom, a space that naturally evokes Italian-inspired charm with its warm tones, architectural details, and inviting ambiance. Soft candlelight and glowing chandeliers transformed the room into an intimate, moody setting as guests gathered for a sophisticated dinner. The reused ceremony florals and greenery brought continuity to the design, adding an organic softness to the ballroom’s rich character.
Behind the bar, guests were welcomed with the couple’s signature cocktails, his Hennessy Sidecar and hers Pisco Sour, adding a personal and playful touch to the evening. As dinner concluded, the atmosphere shifted effortlessly. The dance floor opened wide and quickly filled, becoming a celebration of movement and personality. Guests took over the space with infectious energy, laughter, spinning dresses, and joyful moments. The room roared with life as friends and family of all ages came together.
Alissa and Kobie’s wedding was a heartfelt reflection of enduring love, a day defined by intentional details, family connections, and the effortless versatility of The Estate at River Run, where every space came together to tell one beautiful story.
