Caitlin & Andrew
Caitlin and Andrew celebrated their wedding on a perfect day in May at The Estate at River Run. The couple dated for eight years, their story beginning at James Madison University, where they met and they haven’t looked back since.
The morning unfolded with Caitlin getting ready in the bridal suite with her mom and ten bridesmaids alongside her. In the midst of preparing for ceremony, the brisdesmaids surprised Caitlin with a handmade scrapbook encapsulating their favorite memories together. Filled with old photos, handwritten notes, and countless of inside jokes, it quickly became one of the most heartfelt moments of the morning.
Meanwhile, Andrew spent the morning with his dad and groosmen in the poolhouse, enjoying a bourbon bar.
Once dressed and ready, the couple met on the front lawn for their first look and private vows - an emotional moment filled with happy tears. The atmosphere quickly shifted into excitement as they were joined by their bridal party to continue taking photos and celebrating the day.
The time finally came for the ceremony, which took place on the Bluestone Terrace overlooking the James River. Surrounded by vibrant spring greenery and florals, it was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony. Incorporating her Scottish heritage, Caitlin walked down the isle to the sound of bagpipes played by a live bagpiper, creating a memorable entrance. The couple officially said “I do” and were congradulated with cheers from their loved ones as they made their way back down the isle.
As the guests were led into cockatil hour to the sound of bagpipes, they were welcomed with a warm natural light pouring through the windows of the Wedgewood Ballroom and into the Cameo Ballroom. Guests enjoyed blackberry margaritas and old fashoneds, Caitlin and Andrew’s signiture “His and Hers” drinks, while capturing memories for the guest book that featured a polaroid camera for guests to include photos and write notes inside.
After cocktail hour, guests were welcomed back to the Bluestone Terrace for dinner, speeches, and toasts to the newlyweds. Between the remarks, Caitlin and Andrew stepped away to take golden-hour photos, taking advantage of the stunning views surrounding the venue.
Once finished with dinner, photos, and cake cutting, everyone returned to the Wedgewood Ballroom for dancing. Caitlin and Andrew shared their first dance as husband and wife, followed by touching father-daughter and mother-son dances.
The dancefloor was quickly filled with electric energy that only continued to build throughout the evening. Caitlin and Andrew added a special touch to the reception by spraying CO2 fog amoung the crowd leaving an unforgettable celebration. To end the night, Caitlin and Andrew were sent off with dryed flower petals putting an effortless close to the evening.
From breathtaking views and heartfelt personal touches to a packed dancefloor, Caitlin and Andrew’s special day was one to remember.
