Kim is also the fun-loving owner of Kim Moody Design & the retail store “trend.”, who balances life as a mother, wife, and boss lady all wrapped into one smart business gal. Kim created Kim Moody Design out of the simple love of a good party. She is a master of many trades, a collector of knowledge, and wise beyond her years. Kim is a mentor to many and a firm believer that family is the most important thing in life. She is always up for an adventure and the lake is her happy place. Her calm nature brings you instant peace, and her strong will can, and has, made the impossible happen.
Kim's Master's Degree in Conflict Transformation with an emphasis in Negotiation has given her a very specialized niche in the wedding industry. She has spoken at national wedding conferences across the United States for audiences as large as 3,000 event professionals. She has a wall full of diplomas and educational certificates and is constantly enrolling herself in something to continue learning and growing as an individual!
Although very business-minded, Kim lets her vibrant and contagious personality shine through! When she isn’t working, you will find her having a blast at the lake. She values the weekends at Lake Gaston with her son, daughter, husband, and lake-loving friends. You’ll find her swimming, boating and hanging on the dock in the sunshine. Who said a boss lady couldn’t have a little fun?
Bill is the Director of Business Development and entertainment connoisseur. Anytime he is spotted at The Estate he is dressed to the nines! He's a fan of classic cars, great music, and good people.
Virginia Commonwealth University was his alma mater, and he received a degree in Business Administration. From there, he performed as a DJ/MC at thousands of weddings and corporate events. This lead him on his path to own Choice Entertainment, for 22 years, a booking agency that did over 1,200 events annually. A few years ago he was fortunate to live the dream of every small business owner and sell Choice, rebranded as Black Tie, and run it for the new owners for a couple additional years after the transition. But now - he's ALL IN on entertaining us at River Run. :) He keeps us laughing in the office all the time.
Bill’s favorite part about events is always the planning process, and working to exceed their expectations and give guests memories that will last a lifetime. He loves working closely with clients to pull off great events. Bill has a way of bringing all ages to the dance floor and keeping the dance floor full all night. He will bring a spark to so many corporate events here at The Estate!
In life, his greatest accomplishment is his family. Bill shares his life with a wife, [Jennifer who we adore!], daughter Campbell & son Cole. And you know we are dog people -- we couldn’t forget about his four-legged friends! Their family has fostered 12 dogs over the past few years and have 3 rescues currently living with them. When Bill is not working, you will likely find them in Duck, North Carolina on the deck, sipping on a little bourbon on the rocks and listening to the crashing waves.... while he ponders what fun he is going to bring to River Run next!
Michelle is Richmond born, raised, and spending all of her days!
She has a Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management and LOVES weddings and events. Growing up she always wanted to be a wedding planner and started her career at another event venue on the southside. Working as a ceremony and reception coordinator, she knew she was in the right field. The adreneline and excitement drew her in and she loves being part of it all! Michelle's favorite part about a wedding cermeony is the look on the grooms face as the bride comes down the aisle. The first dance is something she always trys to catch and is her favorite aspection of the celebration!
In her free time she spends every moment with her children. Weekends off are usually spent running from cheer competitions to football games! Michelle is excited to be part of the team at Kim Moody Design with a focus on receptions at The Estate at River Run, and continue her growth in her wedding planning career through the years with KMD!
Andrew is a numbers guy through and through. He is the one that keeps our company together, the checkbook balanced, and the bills paid on time.
He's a gentle father, kind-hearted, a sounding board, and a family man. This guy is crazy about Hokie Football; as an alumnus of Virginia Tech, in his younger "child-free" years, Andrew attended a few games each season for many years after College. These days he is lucky to catch a game or two a year on tv from his living room.
With a Degree in Property Management and Minors in Business and Real Estate, Andrew is the perfect caretaker for managing the property for our team. This Spring he will be spending a few days per week on a lawnmower preparing the property for weddings and events. Andrew is looking forward to that quiet time and a slight break from the monotony of his computer screen.
He has spent his career as an Accountant and Bookkeeper for small businesses and he continues to do so under his own company, "Stewardship Solutions." We are fortunate to have him as part of our in-house team at River Run.
Olivia Sigler has joined our team as an Intern. She is currently studying Hospitality Management and Business at James Madison University. Olivia has a passion for planning events and seeing big projects come together. She looks forward to being able to create that magical day for couples.
Olivia first found her love for planning events when she began planning her birthday parties when she was little. From there, she loved any type of event that brought happiness to a group of people. Although, she wasn't super girly, her favorite thing was watching Say Yes To The Dress on Saturday mornings with her mom. These television marathons sparked her love for weddings.
In her free time, Olivia loves spending time with friends, family, and her dog, Dixie. You can often find her spending time at the beach or anywhere in the sunshine.
Her favorite part of weddings is seeing the joy when the couple sees each other for the first time. She is very excited to work with you all in the future and will work hard to create a day you will never forget!
Jordan is joining our team as an intern from nearby Mechanicsville, Virginia, and she is a Hospitality Management major and Business minor at James Madison University. Her interest in event planning arose from her want to make every gathering just right, no matter the size of it. She has always had a love for weddings, mostly the warm, fairytale-like feeling that they bring, but she has grown to love every small detail as well. She remembers her love for weddings growing stronger when two of her family members got married one summer, so she was able to see just how everything goes down. She has also always loved love stories. Whether it be a TV show, movie or in real life, they’ve always been her favorite and she can’t wait to be a part of many love stories finally tying the knot and giving them their dream day.
Her favorite place to be is outside, specifically in the Outer Banks or in the Blue Ridge Mountains. She loves the sun beating down on a warm spring day, or the cool breeze on a fall afternoon. Her favorite pastime is spending quality time with family and going to see friends.
She has two favorite parts to weddings! One being the grooms face as the bride is walking down the aisle, and the second one being when the bride and groom walk in to their reception to all of their guests and have their first dance together.
She is very excited to help plan a couple’s special day and help it become unforgettable!
